I know that you all stopped by the blog today to read about Denny's amazing weekend at Atlanta. After his spectacular performance in the truck race, bringing home a third place finish for the NCTS team of Billy Ballew and the # 15 team and a stellar run in the Sprint Cup race giving Joe Gibbs Racing and his #11Fed Ex Express team a third place finish of its own and leading some awesome laps, he deserves to be praised.
But your blogger has a heavy heart. Today, October 27, 2008, is the 5 year anniversary of the death of my Mom, Virginia, to breast to bone cancer. So I am taking the day off to mourn my Mother and reflect on how special she is to me.
To Denny Hamlin, my friend and champion, I am so very sorry that I didn't write the post you deserve to read today. Know that I am beyond proud of you and I will write your rave review on Tuesday. You are beyond amazing and I couldn't possibly do you justice after that performance in Atlanta but I will do my best really soon.
To my faithful readers... please stop back tomorrow and read about our favorite driver. Thanks for your understanding.
Proud to be your Denny Hamlin blogger,
Becca

That's a beautiful tribute to your mother,Becca. I can certainly understand why racing would be far from your mind today. I lost my grandmother to breast cancer so it has affected my family as well. God bless you.

Hi Becca, what a beautiful blog. My aunt died 2 years ago with liver cancer. She was like a sister to me. I still think of her everyday. Stay strong Becca. Love your friend, Colleen
